Midtown's bowl: Nova Road to Ridgewood Avenue
Find out if you live in the bowl. The city says low-lying areas south of International Speedway Boulevard, between Nova Road and Ridgewood Avenue, sit below the roads and the Nova Canal around them. During Ian, more than 17 inches of rain fell at Bethune Point, and public safety crews evacuated 269 people by boat and high-water vehicle. The airport's NOAA normals for 1991 to 2020 show 51.3 inches a year, on about 74 days with a tenth of an inch or more, and September alone averages 7.2.
This is not a one-storm problem. A 2009 rain event damaged 790 structures. Tuscawilla Park fills and overflows into Midtown, and when the Halifax runs high, storm pipes stop draining. The city has added 15 backflow preventers along the Nova Canal, plus pump stations, and still placed extra pumps around the rain of October 2026.

Older homes and rentals here mean landlords and tenants both need clear answers. Flood water is Category 3, so porous materials get scoped for removal, and a landlord gets the same moisture map and photos as an owner.

Beachside condos and hotels after Ian and Nicole
Beachside risk is structural first, then water. Ian stripped seawalls and left the shore exposed. When Nicole came six weeks later, Volusia County evacuated 24 beachside hotels and condos judged unsafe. Stay out of any building officials have closed.
Inside a tower, the common loss is simpler: one failed line, many units. We read each affected unit and share the map with owners and the manager.
Water damage restoration in Daytona Beach's Seabreeze and South Peninsula homes
Date the house before you plan the dry-out. The National Register nomination for the Seabreeze Historic District describes about 855 buildings on about 170 acres, most of them single-family homes from about 1898 to 1947, and city guidelines say almost half of the contributing buildings went up in the 1920s. The South Peninsula nomination counts 1,134 buildings from 1886 to 1947, most of them wood frame vernacular residences.
Those dry differently from a beachside tower, so we read each layer before deciding what dries in place. Ask the city before replacing anything visible in a historic district.
Equipment and work that suit both sides of the Halifax
The river splits the city, and it splits the work too.

Seventy-three minutes down I-95 to Speedway Boulevard
We will be straight about this one. We drive I-95 to International Speedway Boulevard, so plan on well over an hour. A closer crew may reach a burst pipe sooner, and you should weigh that. Call any time with an emergency and owner Dal Beggs, who runs the company with his son, will tell you when we can be there. Other questions go well from 7am to 7pm.
Stop the water, stay out of flood water, and photograph every room.
Then we assess the damage and give a free estimate, with no pressure. If you hire us, we run structural drying with daily readings and a written scope.

Ridgewood Avenue permits and what we can show
Permits and Licensing sits at 301 S. Ridgewood Avenue, open weekdays 8am to 4pm, and the city runs a post-storm permitting guide. That guide lists drywall removal or replacement, water heater replacement, and window or door replacement as permit work, while tarping, debris removal, paint and new carpet need none. A flood cut is drywall removal, so we settle that question with you before cutting. Its Utilities Department maintains city ditches, canals, storm pipes and inlets.
We have no Daytona Beach reviews or project photos yet. We claim coverage of Volusia County, the I-95 route and this drive, and nothing more. The reviews under this line are general Google reviews.
What customers say
5.0 stars on Google from 8 reviews. Quoted as written.
“I needed a second opinion on my water damage cleanup but about 5 minutes after Dal showed up I realized I should have contacted 1 Call FIRST. They immediately got to work drying out my house and explained everything so well which helped relieve so much of the anxiety I was feeling. The communication and work was all top notch. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”
“Dal and his son are so compassionate and truly care about the human and do everything in their power to help your house back to normal. They were punctual and even showed back up to the house with any questions etc, I was very pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone who wants someone honest in this industry that unfortunately doesn’t have many honest companies in it. Dal and his crew have a customer life with us anytime we need their services.”
Daytona Beach questions
Why does Midtown Daytona Beach keep flooding after ordinary rain?
Because the land sits lower than the road and river around it. City officials describe a bowl effect, with Midtown at five to six feet above sea level. Storm pipes drain to the Halifax, and when the river rises those outlets go under. North Beach Street and Fairview Avenue flooded again in October 2026, so keep valuables off floors in low spots.
Who handles a leak that crosses units in a Daytona beachside condo?
Start with the building manager and your association, because they control the shut-offs and shared space. We can read moisture in each affected unit and map where the water traveled. Who pays is decided by your documents, your policy wording and your adjuster, not by us. If your building has a manager on site, have them meet us with access keys.
What is Daytona Beach's 50 percent rule after flood damage?
It is a city floodplain rule. If repairs reach 50 percent of a building's assessed value before the damage, the building must meet new construction requirements, and a residence must be elevated one foot above base flood elevation. Permits and Licensing on South Ridgewood Avenue makes that call. Get its answer before ordering materials, because it can change the whole plan.
