Water Damage Restoration in Jacksonville, FL

We provide water damage restoration in Jacksonville from St. Johns County, about 55 minutes from central St. Augustine up I-95 in normal traffic. That time is to downtown, and this is the largest city by area in the contiguous United States, so the far edges of Duval County take longer. What sets Jacksonville apart is the St. Johns River, which climbed into its oldest neighborhoods during Hurricane Irma.

St. Johns River flooding in San Marco and Riverside

Treat the river as the main threat here. On September 11, 2017, Irma pushed the St. Johns to 5.57 feet at the Main Street Bridge, a record that passed Hurricane Dora's 1964 mark, according to the National Weather Service. The National Hurricane Center found that easterly winds drove seawater upriver first, then rainfall runoff kept the level climbing.

That water reached homes. News4Jax reported a mark about five feet up the walls of a waterfront house on River Road in San Marco. Tidal flooding from Ian closed roads in Riverside and San Marco again in 2022.

NOAA's 1991 to 2020 normals give Jacksonville International Airport 53.4 inches a year, with 28.8 of those inches falling from June through September and June the wettest month at 7.6.

A silt line on plaster marks how high flood water stood in an older bungalow.

The age of these neighborhoods raises the stakes. San Marco began in 1925 as an 80-acre Mediterranean-inspired development, and almost 60 percent of buildings in the Riverside historic district carry bungalow styling. Plaster, old wood floors and crawl spaces dry differently from new drywall on slab, so we map moisture through the whole assembly before anyone cuts.

Work that fits these older river neighborhoods

These services match the river, the housing age and the plumbing found across Duval County.

How a visit runs on the I-95 trip from St. Augustine

Your call goes straight to owner Dal Beggs, who runs the company with his son. Give us the address, the water source and what is wet, and we will give you a straight arrival time. The 55 minutes stops at downtown, so an address north or west of it adds to the trip, and we will say by how much.

Use the drive. Shut off the water at the main, stay away from outlets and cords near standing water, and take photos before moving anything. The city says to report downed power lines to JEA.

On site we assess the damage and give a free estimate, with no high-pressure sales. If you go ahead, you get a moisture map, daily readings, photos and a written scope before heavy work. Structural drying ends when wet materials match unaffected ones in the same home.

Riverside-Avondale guidelines and the 50 percent rule

Check the rules before replacing anything visible. Riverside-Avondale is a city historic district, so work there has to follow its design guidelines. The city also asks you to check with the Building Inspection Division before you build, alter, re-grade or fill. Repairs costing more than 50 percent of a building's value count as a substantial improvement, and the city's floodplain page says the whole building must then meet National Flood Insurance Program standards for new construction.

We scope the put-back around those limits, and whoever does permitted work pulls the permit. We hold no Jacksonville reviews or project photos yet. What we can state is that Duval County is in our service area and the drive is what it says above. The two reviews here come from our wider Google profile.

What customers say

5.0 stars on Google from 8 reviews. Quoted as written.

“Highly recommend Dal and his team at 1 Call Restoration - great locally owned company. We had a pipe burst that flooded parts of our home - it was such a stressful situation for our family. Dal and his team were amazing through the whole process. They helped us get everything cleaned up and even helped us as we worked with our insurance. Super thankful for their expertise, quality work, responsiveness, and professionalism.”
Sara D., Google review, about June 2026
“I needed a second opinion on my water damage cleanup but about 5 minutes after Dal showed up I realized I should have contacted 1 Call FIRST. They immediately got to work drying out my house and explained everything so well which helped relieve so much of the anxiety I was feeling. The communication and work was all top notch. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

Jacksonville water damage restoration: JEA, 630-CITY and the Ed Ball Building

Sort out power before water. The city advises having JEA turn off a flooded home's electricity before you go back in. JEA's contact page also lists a claims line, open day and night, for a severe sewage backup into a home.

Two city offices answer the rules questions. Development Services at 214 N. Hogan Street handles flood zone determinations, and the Building Inspection Division sits on the second floor of the Ed Ball Building. Use 630-CITY or the MyJax portal to report debris in a ditch or stream, which the city says can raise flood levels.

A floor drain that rises during a storm can mean a sewer backup even with a dry yard. That calls for sewage cleanup, not a mop.

Jacksonville questions

Is a 55-minute drive too far for a Jacksonville water emergency?

It is a real drive, so plan around it. Call any time with an emergency and we will give you an honest arrival time for your address. While we travel, shut off the main, move valuables off wet floors and photograph everything. Tell us if you are at the far edge of Duval County, because the 55 minutes is measured to downtown.

How do I find out if my Jacksonville home sits in a flood zone?

Ask the city's Development Services Division, which handles official flood zone determinations and Elevation Certificates. The city says flooding is most common from June through November and comes from tributaries and creeks of the St. Johns as well as the river itself. A flood zone does not tell you what a policy pays. Your policy wording and your adjuster decide that.

Can plaster walls in a San Marco or Riverside bungalow be dried in place?

Often, after a clean water leak, yes. We read the wall with moisture meters and thermal imaging, then dry it with air movers and LGR dehumidifiers until it matches unaffected plaster in the same house. River flood water changes the answer. It is Category 3, so porous material it touched usually gets scoped for removal instead.
